                                            The Pyramid of Success


Block 1: Industriousness
"There is no substitute for work. Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning."
Industriousness mean actively engaged or occupied, busy chiefly stresses activity as opposed to idleness or leisure. "...Worthwhile results come from hard work and careful planning." is a great way to start if you want success because lazy people leave everything to the last minute. Most of the time the projects feel rushed and no good. For instance, teachers are grading bases on your effort. If you work hard then you'll get good grades. Having a careful plan for a project means it'll come out good and you won't be stressing because you don't know what to do



Block 2Enthusiasm
"It is the engine that powers all blocks of the Pyramid. It is why I chose Industriousness and Enthusiasm as the cornerstones of my Pyramid of Success. It is where everything begins."  nthusiasm comes from the Greek word enthousiasmos, from enthous, meaning “possessed by a god, inspired.” It was originally used in a derogatory sense to describe excessive religious zeal. Today both the religious and derogatory connotations are gone from enthusiasm, but the zeal has survived. Use it to describe great excitement or interest, like what you feel when you’re doing something that you really, really enjoy



Block 3Friendship
"Comes from mutual esteem, respect and devotion. Like marriage it must not be taken for granted but requires a joint effort."When we talk about friendship, we're often talking about the value of having friends, not just the fact of it. A book might explore the importance of friendship in a young girl's life. You might decide to stop working such long hours and spend more time developing your friendships, in an effort to lead a happier life. A deep friendship can last through many shifts and changes in life, as long as you write or call every now and then.


Block 4: Loyalty
"To yourself and to all those depending upon you. Keep your self-respect."the quality of being loyal. People demonstrate their loyalty to a sports team by cheering for it, win or lose. People demonstrate their loyalty to a political party by voting only for the people of that party. Brand loyalty is the notion (or hope) that once consumers identify strongly with a particular brand or product, like a car or computer, they'll stick with that brand or maker when it comes time to buy new products.



Block 5: Cooperation

"With all levels of your co-workers. Listen if you want to be heard. Be interested in finding the best way, not in having your own way. "Cooperation makes possible division of labor and specialization of function. The modern technological advancement, which requires specialization of skills and functions, is increasingly replacing direct cooperation by indirect one.Cooperation enables people to set aside their differences and arrive at a mutual solution for achieving a common goal.
Block 6: Ambition (For noble goals) 


The desire to achieve something, or to succeed, accompanied with motivation, determination and an internal drive. Ambition describes those that achieve success based on their inner desire to do so and their belief in themselves. Ambition in itself may not be a key to success. Successful, ambitious people need both energy and goals to succeed. Someone with plenty of energy but no goals may find themselves pursuing one opportunity after another without success, wondering what it is that they are wanting out of life. a strong desire to do or to achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.
Block 7: Self-Control

"Practice self-discipline and keep emotions under control. Good judgement and common sense are essential." the ability to control oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires or the expression of them in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations.  is the quality that allows you to stop yourself from doing things you want to do but that might not be in your best interest. For example, without self-control, you might burp and curse nonstop. is the ability to not show your feelings or not do the things that your feelings make you want to do.
Block 8: Alertness
"Be observing constantly. Stay open-minded. Be eager to learn and improve."
Alert is one of the rare words that can be used in the same form as a noun, verb, and adjective. In all parts of speech, alert implies preparedness." When you hear the word, imagine an alarm going off. The alarm is the alert. When you hear it, you have been alerted and you are now alert. When you are alert, you are awake and ready. When you issue an alert you give warning, alerting people to, or notifying them of, a concern
Block 9: Initiative
"Cultivate the ability to make decisions and think alone. Do not be afraid of failure, but learn from it."
An initiative is the start of something, with the hope that it will continue. Government and business start initiatives all the time. You can also talk about initiative as a personal quality. A person with initiative is motivated to do things. If you take the initiative, you're willing to get things done on your own. Taking initiative can be risky: If you do something on your own initiative, then there's nobody you can blame if it goes wrong.An individual's action that begins a process, often done without direct managerial influence. For example, an employee might take the initiative to come up with a new product or service that the company could can also mean a personal quality that shows a willingness to get things done and take responsibility.
Block 10: Intentness
"Set a realistic goal. Concentrate on its achievement by resisting all temptations and being determined and persistent."
“The road to real achievement takes time, a long time, but you do not give up. You may have setbacks. You may have to start over. You may have to change your method. You may have to go around, or over, or under. You may have to back up and get another start. But you do not quit. You stay the course. To do that, you must have intentness.” Coach John Wooden On John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success there is the word, Intentness by which Coach Wooden has put the words, “The ability to resist temptation and stay with your course, concentrate on your objective and be determined to reach your goal.

Block 11: Sincerity (keeps friends) Sincerity is a mix of seriousness and honesty. If you do things with sincerity, people will trust you Along with patience and compassion, sincerity is one of those qualities we all probably wish we had more of — and wish other people had more of, too. People who show sincerity are being serious, kind, and truthful. Politicians who show sincerity tend to do well because people believe them.  An apology full of sincerity will probably be accepted.

Block 12: Adaptability (to any situation) If someone is equally able to live on an iceberg, in a desert, and on top of a mountain, you could say that she has a lot of adaptability. This means she is able to make changes in response to her environment.The ability to adapt, or adaptability, is a great quality to have if you are an employee of a company that is going through a lot of changes or if you are an animal in nature. You could say that some chameleons, which change color to blend into their surroundings, have a high level of adaptability.

Block 13: Condition
"Mental-Moral-Physical. Rest, exercise and diet must be considered. Moderation must be practiced. Dissipation must be eliminated." A medical problem or illness can be referred to as a condition. Your skin condition isn't contagious, but it still looks bad scabby and scaly.condition is also a requirement or prerequisite for something. As a condition of your acceptance to college, you may have to maintain certain grades and do well on a standardized test. Condition can refer as well to the state or quality of something.

Block 14: Skill
"A knowledge of and the ability to properly and quickly execute the fundamentals. Be prepared and cover every little detail." If you have an ability that required practice, training, or experience, you have a skillthe ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily in execution or performance


Block 15:  Team Spirit
"A genuine consideration for others. An eagerness to sacrifice personal interests of glory for the welfare of all."is the feeling of pride and loyalty that exists among the members of a team and that makes them want their team to do well or to be the best. and working together as a group and its a group pf members planning a thing out for spirit.
Block 16: Honesty (in thought and action)"Honesty is the best policy." (Ben Franklin)
Honesty is going to take you places in life that you never could have dreamed and it’s the easiest thing you can practice in order to be happy, successful and fulfilled. Honesty is part of the foundation of my core values and principles. Honesty cuts through deception and knifes its way through deceit and lies. Honesty leads to a fulfilling, free life.Honesty is not just about telling the truth. It’s about being real with yourself and others about who you are, what you want and what you need to live your most authentic life.  
Block 17: Resourcefulness (proper judgment)
 “Make the most out of what you have.” (Anonymous)

"If you have a dream, if you have something you've always wanted to do, look within yourself because that is where resourcefulness resides; and go for it. (Jennifer Witterick)                                                                                                   Resourcefulness is defined as the ability and creativity to cope with difficulties. If you are stranded in a house without power and you are able to find a way to get a fire going and cook yourself some lunch, this is an example of resourcefulness.   
Block 18: Poise

"Just being yourself. Being at ease in any situation."
If you have poise, you are cool under stress. People with poise can handle pressure without showing it.A poised person exhibits composure and self-assuredness, which comes in handy and You're balanced, grounded, and ready for action
Block 19: Confidence 
"Thorough preparation breeds confidence" Gerald Bell in
"The Carolina Way"
a feeling of trust and firm belief in yourself or others." A person who walks into a room, smiling at everyone and not at all nervous about the speech she's about to give? She has confidence.of confidence is trust, faith, self-assurance or something told in secret.
              Block 20: Reliability (creates respect)
the quality of being trustworthy or of performing consistently well.Reliability is theoretically defined as the probability of success The word is a new one and didn't become common until after 1850 during the Industrial Revolution. Before things were mass produced, how reliable they were was not such an issue. Interesting fact: reliability is an American word, and the Brits scoffed at its new usage.
Block 21: Fight (determined ef When you fight, you dispute or argue. Everyone disagrees from time to time, but it's sad when close friends fight.  fight means to engage in a struggle that involves conflict — and as a noun, fight is the conflict itself. A fight can take a physical form, like a boxing match or a playground skirmish, or it can happen with words, like a fight over anything.
Block 22: Competitive Greatness
" Be at your best when your best is needed. Enjoyment of a difficult challenge." 
 is the ability to be at your best when your best is needed. Competitive Greatness, is defined as, “Be at your best when your best is needed. ... Coach described  competitive greatness this way: “The next and last block in the structure just above poise and confidence is competitive greatness. The great competitors I have played for and against, taught and admired all shared a joy in the struggle itself 
Block 23: Integrity (purity of intention)
Having integrity means doing the right thing in a reliable way. It's a personality trait that we admire, since it means a person has a moral compass that doesn't waver. is a personal quality of fairness that we all aspire to unless you're a dishonest, immoral scoundrel, of course.
Block 24: Faith (through prayer)
Believe and Achieve. Positive belief.
complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
Block 25: Patience (good things take time)
If you have patience, you are able to stay calm and not get annoyed, for example, when something takes a long time, or when someone is not doing what you want them to do.Having patience means you can remain calm, even when you've been waiting forever or dealing with something painstakingly slow or trying to teach someone how to do something and they just don't get it. It involves acceptance and tolerance, and is usually easier to have when there's something in it for you at the end.
